Misleading description & zero response from Runtastic

Save your money. Ive been a big Runtastic Pro user for a long time, but I wanted an app that could do similar things without demanding the use of GPS/location services. Pedometer Pro promised to "work in the background" and to "motivate" users. Be warned, "works in background" only means that it will keep track of your steps during a session if its in the background or if your phone is locked, it DOES NOT mean that it will keep track of it in real time! What does this mean? It means the app gives ZERO feedback to the user if the phone is locked. No "beep" every 1,000 steps. My guess is its just tapping into the phones pedometer data and regurgitating it back to the user. Thats pointless during a hike. Absolutely useless. You have to stop, unlock your phone, watch the data update itself, and only then do you can know how far youve gone. As for the "motivation" it promises? No voice coach feedback like its mother app has. No 1,000 step beeps as I already mentioned (unless you leave your phones screen unlocked and never accident touch it or drain the battery). The only "motivation" it supposedly provides is a notification once in a blue moon asking if you know how many steps youve taken today... and then it doesnt even tell you! Because it doesnt track it unless you started a session. I have other pedometer apps (FREE ones at that) that will keep track of overall active time and steps taken, without starting sessions, etc. I really regret buying the pro version of this one. The moment I bought it and tried it, I contacted Runtastic to get my money back and complain about their false and misleading advertising. They never responded. All I got is an automatic email saying to read the FAQ and to create a ticket if it didnt help (the FAQ only says its "coming soon," and there is absolutely no indication as to how or where to open these mysterious tickets; so its a blackhole). Save your money. Or accept that youll need to give up on your privacy and use GPS if you want to use Runtastic sessions and buy Runtastic Pro, NOT this Pedometer Pro app.
